Thanksgiving is upon us and a few of us will be asked to pray out loud before dinner -often with little warning and no way to graciously refuse. Nervousness is normal, but don’t stress. I’ve learned that usually people are so thankful that they aren’t the one being put on the spot that they will release any temptation to judge your efforts.
So, take a deep breath, start with “Let us pray,” give thanks for the food and those who prepared it, add personal prayers for family who are not present and end with “Amen.” That should get you through. But, if you feel like you need a little something else in your back pocket, there are some great Thanksgiving Table Graces over at Building Faith.
Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving,
Christine
