Epiphany can easily slip away unnoticed
In the midst of weekday routine.
The traditions are simple:
a bit of cake, a bit of chalk, perhaps candles,
or removing the tree.
The star-led journey
Is not marred by commercialism or obligation.
Epiphany is the luminous knowing
of Christ with us, Savior as star-dust-flesh;
That we may encounter our Creator,
In water, in bread and wine;
That we may shine brilliantly with love,
and be saved from all that binds us.
Today, we are reminded
that each day is a day for knowing.
We’ll be chalking the door at our home this year for Epiphany this year, our first time experiencing this tradition. A set of instructions and brief liturgy can be found at Building Faith.
Thank you for this wonderful reminder. Blessings!

We will be burning greens tonight after we teach the children at our church about the meaning of epiphany.
