What beautiful yard and sidewalk art is appearing in neighborhoods everywhere! It is a delight to see people finding ways to bring beauty, hope, and joy into the world while sheltered at home. In Illinois, shelter at home is in effect until the middle of Holy Week.
With that in mind, my colleague Katie Lancaster and I came up with the idea of encouraging families to use what they have to create Palm Sunday and Easter art. The directions are simple and meant to be shared widely. Let’s see how far this can spread!
The directions are intentionally simple:
Hosanna Project:
- Use what you have (sidewalk chalk, paper, paint, crayons, string, scraps of wood, etc.) to create a “Hosanna” banner/sign/message for Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020.
- Tag your church on Instagram and use hashtag #athomehosanna
Hallelujah Project:
- Use what you have (sidewalk chalk, paper, paint, crayons, string, scraps of wood, etc.) to create a “Hallelujah” banner/sign/message for Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.
- Tag your church on Instagram and use hashtag #athomehallelujah
Share the graphics below or create your own. I cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with.
